Thick and Fast

Heading towards the end of the 21st week of the restoration and reordering and it is all happening! The fractured pillar base has been repaired. The scaffolding used to hold up the arcades has been moved outside in preparation for solar panel install in September. Thanks to Apex crew! The first section of tiling has been completed (where the servery and accessible toilet will go). Wiring work is underway in the choir vestry and aisle roof spaces. Our electrical contractors are T&C with local providers GLO doing the solar panels. The first bit of new plastering is about to begin on the west wall (north side).The trench for the new incoming electrical supply has been dug in readiness for running it into church underneath the massive west door slabs. At the other end of the church we had a bit of a job locating where the power line comes into that side of the site. Some careful digging needed and lots of intact graves uncovered in the forecourt area. Lastly - and nothing to do with the works - a car ran into the boundary wall on Tuesday, toppling a section!
